1. Information We Collect

Typatone is an interactive musical typewriter and audio composition application. The text you type into the composer is processed locally in real-time within your web browser using the Web Audio API and HTML5 Canvas. We do not store or transmit keystrokes or unsaved compositions to our servers while you type.

We collect information in the following situations:

  • Shared Compositions: When you voluntarily choose to share a musical message by clicking "Share", the text of your composition, chosen sound voice (e.g., Natural, Sustain, Beeps, Spooky, Boards, Flutter), and tempo playback speed are stored in our secure database with a randomized alphanumeric identifier to generate your shareable link and QR code.
  • Log Data: Like most web applications, our servers automatically record standard technical information when you access our site, including IP address, browser type and version, referring/exit URLs, operating system, date/time stamps, and request latency. This log data is used solely for systems administration, security defense, and infrastructure diagnostics.
  • Contact Information: If you contact us directly at support@typatone.org or via our Contact Form, we receive your name, email address, message contents, and any attachments you provide.

2. Cookies and Web Beacons

Typatone uses standard cookies and browser local storage to enhance user experience. Local storage is used to remember your audio volume preference and playback state across sessions without tracking your identity.

You can choose to disable cookies through your individual browser settings. Detailed information about cookie management with specific web browsers can be found at the browsers' respective official websites.

4. Advertising Partners & Third-Party Privacy Policies

Our advertising partners may use cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons in their respective advertisements and links that appear on Typatone, which are sent directly to your browser. They automatically receive your IP address when this occurs. These technologies are used to measure the effectiveness of their advertising campaigns and/or to personalize the advertising content that you see on websites that you visit.

Please note that Typatone has no access to or control over these cookies that are used by third-party advertisers. We advise you to consult the respective Privacy Policies of these third-party ad servers for more detailed information, including instructions on how to opt-out of certain practices.
